4 Victims Shot at Howe Park – Unauthorized Event Results in Shooting





On Saturday evening, an unlawful gathering of multiple hundreds of attendees at Howe Park in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento erupted in gunfire when between 20 and 25 shots rang out as Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies were working to removing people from the park.

The Incident

Just after 6:30 PM, the SCSO was alerted involving individuals possibly carrying concealed weapons at Howe Park. A follow-up call described a reported fight and subjects running away.

Air support was utilized and surveyed the area from above but did not locate an active fight.

However, an estimated several hundred attendees had collected at the park for what authorities described as an unlawful gathering. Deputies positioned themselves around the park, switched on their vehicle lights, and took about 15 minutes commanding the crowd to clear out over loudspeakers.

While law enforcement cleared the gathering, upwards of 20 gunshots echoed through the area — causing hundreds to flee in all directions at once.

Shooting Victims

Four shooting victims — a female and website three male victims, each in their 20s — were taken to Sacramento area hospitals. Two sustained immediate injuries, one sustained moderate injuries, and one had minor injuries. All four were reported in stable condition. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded and assisted with triage at the location.

At the Scene

Further shell casings were found along Cottage Way, with bullet impacts found in the iron fence surrounding the Home Depot store — suggesting a shooter who fired southward from the Cottage Way area toward the Home Depot parking lot. CSI units and detectives processed the scene throughout the night.

Arrests and Detentions

Via scanner radio traffic, it was confirmed that a suspect vehicle — a Kia — was pulled over in nearby Solano County click here with four individuals detained. Sheriff's deputies were traveling to collect those detained and bring them back to Sacramento for questioning. Footage confirmed two separate shooters.
